- CPAN: The Coalition Protecting Auto No Fault
Advocates to preserve Michigan's model no-fault insurance system, including the following issues: maintaining full medical coverage for auto accident victims, prohibiting managed care, limiting fee schedules and payment formulas, fair attendant care reimbursement, MCCA fund advocacy, sanctions for insurers who do not pay bills, maintaining a threshold injury standard, RBI liability limits, and underinsured/uninsured motorist coverage.
- Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan
Established in 1948, the Epilepsy Foundation of Michigan is the only statewide non-profit organization focusing on epilepsy. The Foundation provides a number of programs and services, including the following: Public and Professional Education & Awareness Programs, such as Seizure First Aid and disability awareness training; Education and Support Programs for people with epilepsy and their families, including Living Well with Epilepsy educational workshops, Camp Discovery, and Adult & Family Retreats; Advocacy Programs; Epilepsy Today Conferences; and Education & Consultation Services, including toll-free phone services, video library, and literature. We have offices in Southfield and Grand Rapids.
- Michigan Disability Rights Coalition (MDRC)
MDRC works to build opportunities for people with disabilities so they may live fully integrated lives within their chosen communities, now and in the future. Full citizenship is the expected role that people with disabilities will play, and their hopes and dreams parallel those of citizens without disabilities.

Provides help with legal problems to low income residents of Michigan. On this site you will find information about the law and about places to go for help with legal and related problems.

The Brain Injury Association of America provides comprehensive education about brain injury to audiences as diverse as physicians, rehabilitation specialists, trial lawyers and educators.

- The Shaken Baby Alliance
The Shaken Baby Alliance provides support for SBS victim families (including adoptive and foster parents), advocate for justice for SBS victims, and increase SBS awareness.
Kids & Parents
- Michigan Department of Education (MDE)
Special education and early intervention services information, including assessment, development, and process of Individualized Education Program (IEP) and 504 plan.
- National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities
A central source of information on: disabilities in infants, toddlers, children, and youth; IDEA, which is the law authorizing special education; No Child Left Behind (as it relates to children with disabilities); research-based information on effective educational practices. This website welcomes communication in both English or Spanish.
- Sports
The Michigan High School Athletic Association promotes healthy and safe athletics. This site provides protocols and return to sport information, following a TBI, as well as other health and safety sports-related resources.
Adapted Equipment/Assistive Technology
- Assistive Technology Loan Fund
The Michigan Assistive Technology Loan Fund, established by the Michigan Disability Rights Coalition, allows people with disabilities and seniors (or their family members) to purchase assistive technology devices or services, including modification of vehicles and homes. Loans may also cover cost of training to use the purchased equipment, warranties, and service agreements.
- Bikes for the Rest of Us
Bikes for the Rest of Us is a free annual event held in April/May of each year and hosted by Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital. This program focused on recreational cycling for children and adults with special needs. The event highlights a variety of special cycling equipment demonstrated by local and regional bike shops, DME suppliers, and manufacturers. Each participant is pre-registered and matched with a volunteer therapist who then assists in matching physical needs with the most appropriate biking equipment. OrthoSEAT therapists are involved in the planning, evaluations, bike modifications, and fitting process for the bikes.
- Fat Wheels
Safety in bicycle riding should be a priority when choosing your equipment. Riders who have not yet developed an adequate sense of balance may choose to utilize training wheels to provide stability. During the learning process, and in some cases, throughout life, Fatwheels training wheels can make the difference between an active life and a sedentary one.
